Ear Candling

Ear Candling or Thermal Auricular Therapy is an ancient treatment dating back centuries. There is historical evidence that it was used by the North and South American Indians, Chinese, Egyptians and Greeks. The practice has reached the modern world via the Native American Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona and many candles today are made using the same formula that originated from the Hopi tribe. The candles are made from natural ingredients that include sage, St John’s Wort, chamomile, beta-carotene, honey, beeswax, flax, cotton, herbs and aromatic oils.

When lit, the ear candle generates a gentle heat which, when combined with the therapeutic oils, produces a light suction action. This is known as the chimney principle and works by drawing impurities gently to the surface where they can be removed. None of the candle residue actually goes into the ear. A small disc is used to prevent anything falling from the candle onto the client.

Ear Candling can help with ...

  • Regulation of ear pressure and improved hearing.
  • Glue Ear.
  • Relieve snoring.
  • Balance pressure in the ears pre and post flying or diving.
  • Reduce excessive or compacted wax in the ears.
  • Sinusitis, Rhinitis and Tinnitus.
